The ingredients of our top-quality TruMelt blend are fully disclosed. We don’t hide the ingredient inclusion rates or use false marketing claims to fool the customer into buying low-grade or lesser quality products. Instead, we educate on the real performance of ice melters.

Purer Product

TruMelt’s base ingredient is solar salt with 99% purity. This greatly reduces tracking because it contains no dirty rock salt. TruMelt’s products includes only the best quality magnesium pellets and calcium flakes.

Free Flowing

For better flowing efficiency, TruMelt’s products are thoroughly dried, screened, and sized. This removes fine particles and large crystals to avoid dusting, clumping, or clogging of spreaders. A flowing agent is also added to further preclude clumping. Because they are clump-free, TruMelt’s products can be easily and efficiently applied. All of our ice melt products are blended and packaged in the USA.

TruMelt™ 20% Magnesium

TruMelt™ 20% is a premium blend of 80% oven-dried, screened solar salt and 20% magnesium pellets. It is the absolute premier ice melt blend for commercial and residential applications. Due to the inclusion of 20% magnesium pellets, it melts effectively down to a low temperature of -12°F.

TruMelt™ 20% is screened to optimal crystal size for maximum traction and accurate spreading. Small, dusty fines and large crystals above ¼-inch in diameter are removed. Because it is clump-free, it is easily and efficiently applied. It is the most free-flowing ice melt on the market. It is also lightly tinted with a non-staining organic green dye to enhance accuracy and visibility. This dye is non-staining and safe for sidewalks and floors.

TruMelt™ 20% is safer on concrete surfaces than other less concentrated blends due to the inclusion rate of 20% magnesium pellets. Using 20% magnesium pellets provides more melting power and lowers the melting point. This minimizes freeze/thaw cycles and provides more protection from concrete damage, such as spalling and chipping. In addition, it is safer for pets and turf due to the gentle nature of magnesium pellets. If applied at recommended rates, it will not burn vegetation or a pet’s paws.

TruMelt™ 12% Calcium Flakes

TruMelt™ 12% is a premium blend of 88% oven-dried, screened sodium chloride, and 12% calcium chloride flakes. It is the premier choice for commercial applications. Due to the inclusion of 12% calcium flakes, it melts effectively down to a low temperature of -20°F.

TruMelt™ 12% is screened to optimal crystal size for maximum traction and accurate spreading. Small, dusty fines and large crystals above ¼-inch in diameter are removed. Because it is clump-free, it is easy and efficient to apply. It is also lightly tinted with a non-staining green dye to enhance accuracy and visibility and is safe for sidewalks and concrete surfaces.

This product is safer on concrete surfaces than other blends with a higher freezing point. Due to the inclusion of 12% calcium flakes, it lowers the freezing point, thereby minimizing freeze/thaw cycles and providing greater protection from concrete damage like spalling and chipping.

While TruMelt™ 12% is a highly effective blend, it is not recommended for use around pets or in areas with lots of vegetation. For greater protection of pets and plants, try using TM 10%  or TM 20%.

TruMelt™ 10% magnesium is a premium blend of 90% oven-dried, screened sodium chloride, and 10% magnesium pellets. Being a premier choice for commercial and residential applications, it melts effectively down to a low temperature of -10°F due to the inclusion of 10% magnesium.

TruMelt™ 10% is screened to optimal crystal size for maximum traction and accurate spreading.  Because the small, dusty fines and large crystals above ¼-inch diameter have been removed, it is clump-free, making it easy and efficient to apply. It is lightly tinted with a non-staining green dye to enhance accuracy and visibility and is safe for use on sidewalks and concrete surfaces. Tru Melt 10% is also safer for pets and turf than calcium-based products due to the gentle nature of the magnesium pellets. If applied at recommended rates, it will not burn vegetation or a pet’s paws.

TruMelt™ 3% magnesium is a premium blend of 97% oven-dried, screened sodium chloride, and 3% magnesium pellets. As an economical choice for commercial and residential applications, it melts effectively down to 0°F due to the inclusion of 3% magnesium pellets.

TruMelt™ 3% is screened to optimal crystal size for maximum traction and accurate spreading. Because the fines and large crystals above ¼-inch in diameter have been removed, it is clump-free, making it easy and efficient to apply. Tru Melt™ 3% is lightly tinted with a non-staining green dye, enhancing application accuracy and visibility. It is non-staining and safe for sidewalks and near entrances. In addition, Tru Melt™ 3% is safer for pets and turf than calcium-based products. If applied at recommended rates, it will not burn vegetation or pet’s paws.

TruMelt™ 3% is safer on concrete surfaces than just pure salt. With 3% magnesium pellets, the melting point is over 15 degrees lower than pure salt, reducing freeze/thaw cycles above 0°F. However, for greater protection of concrete surfaces and melting power, use TM 12% or TM 20%.

TruMelt™ Encapsulated

TruMelt™ Encapsulated is a premium, sodium chloride-based ice melt pre-treated with AgSalt Processing’s liquid brine. It is a quality choice for commercial and residential applications. Since there is an even coating of magnesium brine on every salt crystal, Tru Melt™ Encapsulated can melt effectively to a temperature of 0°F. If greater performance is needed, try using TM 10% or TM 20%.

TruMelt™ Encapsulated is screened to optimal crystal size for maximum traction and accurate spreading. With small dusty fines and large crystals above ¼ inch in diameter are removed, it is clump-free, making it easy and efficient to apply. Tru Melt™ Encapsulated is mixed with a green dye for improved visibility during application. Due to its non-staining and tracking qualities, it is safe for use on sidewalks and near entrances. In addition, it is safer for pets and turf than calcium-based products. If applied at recommended rates, it will not burn vegetation or pet paws.

TruMelt™ Encapsulated is safer on concrete than plain salt. Due to the brine, it can effectively lower the refreeze temp and significantly reduce freeze/thaw cycles above 0°F. However, for greater concrete protection, use TM 12% or TM 20%.

TruMelt™ Halite is 99.5% pure oven-dried, screened solar salt and is an economical choice for commercial and residential applications. Because of its high level of purity, it will melt effectively down to temperatures of 5°F.

This product is screened to optimal crystal size for maximum traction and accurate spreading. Because the small, dusty fines and large crystals above ¼-inch diameter have been removed, it is clump-free, making it easy and efficient to apply. Since it is non-staining, it is safe for use on sidewalks. It is also safer for pets and plants than calcium-based products and when applied at recommended rates, it will not burn vegetation or a pet’s paws.

TruMelt™ Halite is safe for use on concrete, and above temperatures of 5°F, will provide protection against freeze/cycles. However, for even greater protection of concrete surfaces and stronger melting power, use TM 10%, TM 12%, or TM 20%.
